As many of you are aware, Fire Keep, the last book in the Farworld series released on May 11 and is available in hardback, paperback, and e-book. The last book in the Case File 13 series, Curse of the Mummy’s Uncle comes out in June, and my new series Mysteries of Cove comes out in September. So, what kind of fun stuff do you have to look forward to? I’m so glad you asked.

Last weekend I had a chance to take part in Storymakers 2015, a conference that’s just getting better and better. Not only did I get to do some fun classes, but I also got to hang out with a bunch of my good friends.

Next week I’ll be in New York for Book Expo America, and inon June I’ll be in San Francisco for American Library Association.

As if that wasn’t enough, there’s a whole bunch of other great stuff coming like: a live action Mysteries of Cove book trailer, a steampunk web site redesign, a huge launch party/stage show with none other than James Dashner, author of Maze Runner as the MC, and an 8 week 18 state book tour. Here is the final cover.

  1. Awesome!
I am so excited for your new series!
Anyways, I am going to read Farworld now for the last time. I only have three more chapters + epilogue. Alright, so. . . thanks, and I’ll see you!

  2. Thanks, Liam. I hope you like the ending!

    • Is there going to be a 3rd book of the cove cant leave us hanging scott 🙂

  3. Hello, Scott. I was at the LDSTorytellers Conference and loved all the great information we received for you and the other presenters. Thank-you for being there!
Would you please send the PDF for the 4 Points presentation you did?
    Thanks,
    Nancy

  4. Great conference write-up! I can’t believe Storymakers ended well over a week ago. Is it next May yet? Pretty please?

    Also, have fun at BEA!

  5. when if ever will Fire Keep be released on audiobook?

  6. Tony,

Since this is not being published by Shadow Mountain, I have to find a narrator, I like, who is willing to record the audio for a share of profits. After that, the book has to be recorded, uploaded, etc. That usually takes a couple of months.

  7. I just finished “time to kill”and came to your website to find the title for book number 4 (because you like to leave the reader with a cliff hanger)and I can’t find any information on it. I am excited about your new series, but I have to know when will book #4 be done?

  8. I was scrolling through the Booklist Online REaD ALERT newsletter in my inbox…and what did I happen to see? An ad for your new series!!!

And I’m pretty sure Fire Keep will be waiting in my mailbox when I get home from work today. I told myself that I need to finish rereading Land Keep (2/3rds of the way through) and Air Keep before I read the last book in the series. Glad it’s almost the weekend so there’s more time to read!

  9. Sharon,

Thanks so much for spotting the booklist ad. Shadow Mountain is doing an amazing job at getting the word out. Can’t wait to hear what you think of Fire Keep.

    Karen,

The plan was to do four Shandra books, but sales haven’t been as great as the publisher had hoped. I’m thinking that series may be done.

    • Just finished A Time To die; very sad to read you didn’t do the fourth book! Guess I’ll have to get into a newer series of yours and stop wondering about Shanda’s dad. I’m 75 and always appreciate a great read! Yours are great…

  10. We LOVE the Far world Series and just finished reading book four, Fire Keep. We read a while ago that there would be a 5th book called “Shadow Keep’, but in the acknowledgements of Fire Keep it said it was the final book. Will there be a 5th book called Shadow Keep? We hope so!!!

    • So I was actually introduced to the Farworld series 3 years ago by my cousin; when I was looking for something fun to do. I enjoyed the books so much that I finished that in about a week and a half. unfortunately and fortunately as well, when I reached the end of the third book, I realized that it wasn’t the end of the series. When I researched more into when the fourth book came out, I realized that it was yet to be released. Just currently, I had forgotten entirely about the series until I visited my cousin again and saw the book on his bookshelf. I decided to reread the book and I am so glad that I did because it brought a lot of wonderful memories to mind of my youth. I am a young adult now and I am so excited to read the fourth book at last. I hope with all my heart that you write another series like this because it had a huge impact on me when I was a little boy. I am so sad to see the Farworld series go. Please continue to write such wonderful books like them. If so, I will make a commitment to read them.

From one of the many kids that you inspired,
      Levi Stewart

(P.S. are you by chance related to Levi Savage, whom the main character was in 17 Miracles? If so that is really interesting because I am related to him as well)… 🙂

  11. Sorry to hear that no more Shandra Covington will be forth-coming. I enjoyed them–and the Cutting Edge. I’m not into the current sci-fi junk.

  12. Just ordered my copy of Fires of Invention…and fun book trailer!

  13. PLEASE let us know when Book Two is coming!

  14. (Book Two of “Mysteries of Cove”, of course.)

    • Yes, please let us know when. My grandson met you a couple of weeks ago and we immediately bought Book 1. He’s asking for Book 2 for Christmas – will it be out by then?

  15. How may I obtained a signed hardcover of The Cove?

My 7 y.o. Son lost his Good Behavior Stick for jumping in his school library. Why? He was happy that The Cove was finally available; he said it had been continuously checked out for two months. He read it for over an hour that first night. I was along side him with my own book to read but Dan kept stopping to tell me about the setting and story. He calculated on his own how many pages he’d need to read each day to finish the book before it was due and he also set his alarm an hour earlier to read before school. Anyone that came to visit at the house Dan would show them the progressing dragon diagrams illustrations and tell them the story. He’d hug the book to his chest. One of his older brothers at seven discovered The Hobbit and for him that was the book that turned him into a reader and he has returned to re read The Hobbit three times until I took it away because the spine wore out–we are looking to rebind it. So we have seen passion for a book before. For Dan the first book to have this profound impact is your Cove book so I’d like to be able to find a signed copy for him.

    • Kerrie,

That’s a pretty great reason for losing his Good Behavior Stick. I love when you see the love of reading light bulb go on like that, and I’m so thrilled one of my books can have that kind of impact.

If you contact Jennifer at events@jscottsavage.com, she can coordinate getting you a signed book.

  16. Thanks for the comments everyone. I’ve actually been buried with getting book two ready. So that’s good news! It currently looks like we are shooting for a release date of September.

  17. [For some reason my replies aren’t always posting so I’ll try this again.]

  27. I finished reading “Curse of the Mummy’s Uncle”. I find it amazing! I do hope the next book will come out soon 🙂 This is so satisfying that I simply can not put down the book and keep reading it even though I’m done. You are a really good writer!

Side note: Will there ever be a book about Sirens? Sirens are one of my favourite mythical creatures [apart from Dragons] and I really want to see a book about them! Remember Nick’s mom wanted to go on a cruise? This could a chance to insert them in!)

  28. I’m so happy Farworld book 4 made it to audio!! I listened to the first 3 and read the last when I found out you published it yourself. Imagine my shock a few months later when it appeared on audible. Now I’m hooked on Mysteries of Cove. Can’t wait for the next one!

    • do you know when book 4 is coming out. I would like to know.

  34. Hey everyone, Thanks for the great questions. Yes, there will definitely be a third book in Cove. I’ll have more info soon! Not planning a sequel to Farworld right now, but that doesn’t mean it won’t happen.

I’ll do a new post soon with the latest info.

  40. This is Leann Moody, Dixon Middle School in Provo, and I was wondering if we could schedule an author visit for February or March. My preferred dates would be Feb. 20, 21, Feb. 27,28 or March 6,7,8 although I could probably work with any day this far out. If you could let me know….I would like to get it on the school calendar so I have it reserved….Thanks so much.

  47. Hi Mr. Savage,

I am a huge fan of Far world and was wondering if you are planning on making a 5th book. the epilog at the end is very exiting and have brought my hopes up!

    • That is a great question. I definitely have an idea for where I would like to go with more Farworld books, and I’ve talked to the publisher about them, so it’s a possibility. But nothing on the immediate horizon.
